TFE 6 is a general purpose Yarn detector based on a piezoelectric sensor. It is able to detect very small yarn movements through the eyelet. The sensitivity is automatically adjusted for optimal detection, this reduces critical regulations due to different yarn types, braking and speed. The output signal is available in three different configurations: NPN open collector, PNP open collector or current source. It is possible to exclude the sensor by means of a hand switch on the front of the housing. When the sensor is excluded, the output is "ON" and the red led is lit. When the sensor is working the output will be "ON" if the yarn is running and the green led is lit.

The TFE 6 covers a wide range of yarns, from monofilament to multifilament, spun yarns, silk and more. It may be used in vibrating environments using the special shock absorber supplied with the yarn detector.
